Welcome to Stony Brook Medicine’s HIV Treatment Center and Designated AIDS Center (DAC). Our program encompasses all aspects of HIV infection from PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) to full-blown AIDS. We provide HIV care to all age groups, including infants and senior citizens. Our maternal-fetal team manage women living with HIV through pregnancy and delivery.
I am happy to say that HIV infection is no longer a dire diagnosis. The prognosis for patients living with HIV is excellent provided that they are medication adherent and closely monitored by a team of providers who have both expertise and experience in the field.
We at Stony Brook have a multidisciplinary approach to caring for our patients. Our doctors, nurse practitioners, social workers, dietitians, and other staff are highly experienced who are non-judgmental and compassionate practitioners. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
