Providing comprehensive, expert medical care for adult patients, age 18 and older

General Medicine and Geriatrics at Stony Brook Advanced Specialty Care is where adult patients, age 18 and older, have access to board-certified general internists and geriatricians who work alongside subspecialists in Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Pulmonology and Infectious Disease to provide them with comprehensive, expert medical care. We work closely with “hospitalists” in our division who care for our patients requiring acute hospitalization at Stony Brook University Hospital. We provide evidence-based, high-quality care through comprehensive primary care and appropriate referrals.

Our Care Philosophy is to deliver patient-centered primary care that encompasses diagnosis and treatment of both urgent and chronic diseases, prevention of certain devastating diseases like stroke, falls and heart disease, promotion of healthy lifestyles, and excellent continuity and coordination of care. Our values include quality, honesty and integrity, long-lasting relationships based on trust, and access to care in times of need. We are open several weekday evenings and Saturdays, and welcome new patients.

*Urgent Care:
If an urgent need arises during office hours, simply call the office to schedule an appointment. We will make every attempt to see you the same day. If it happens when the office is closed, call the doctor on call, who can be reached at (631) 468-3059. We have “walk in” hours on most Saturday mornings from 9 am to noon. Please call first to confirm provider availability at (631) 638-0597. We are also open late three evenings a week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) until 8 pm. Please know that many urgent healthcare needs can be handled by the practice. Office appointments can help you avoid a long and costly visit to the emergency room.

Certain medical problems, such as acute onset of severe chest pain or shortness of breath, passing out, weakness of an arm or leg, loss of feeling in parts of your body, excruciating headache, vomiting blood, etc., are true medical emergencies and do require a call to 911 and an emergency room visit.

Screenings and early treatment for chronic medical conditions can keep patients healthy.
