JON CERAMI

Jon Cerami, RN, BS, Emergency Department, is on a mission, you might say. Each month, he brings blankets and clothing to the Bowery Mission in New York City. 

Last November, Jon, and a group of nurses from the ED – Lisa Markey, Maryta Marzano, Danielle Bellucci and Tricia Arato – took their first trip to the Bowery to hand out items to those less fortunate.  They continue to drive to the Bowery each month and bring clothing to the mission. 

“We are planning to look for places on Long Island, in our own community, here in Suffolk County, that may have similar needs,” Jon said. 

For the past five years, Jon has travelled to Guyana with his college professor to provide screenings and healthcare for the community. They also teach critical care and other areas of nursing to the nurses at the request of the staff at Georgetown Public Hospital where they stay in Guyana.
