October 22, 2024 — Stony Brook University Hospital is the only in New York State to be recognized as one of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Stroke Care for 10 years in a row (2016-2025) and is the recipient of numerous Excellence Awards and Five-Star Ratings across medical specialties, according to Healthgrades, a leading resource that evaluates approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide solely on patient outcomes.
By focusing on clinical outcomes, including risk-adjusted mortality and complications, the Healthgrades ratings provide critical feedback for patients and hospitals alike. These newest rankings come on the heels of Stony Brook University Hospital achieving the highest level of national recognition as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for 2024, the only hospital on Long Island to receive this recognition. As part of this ranking, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital also shares in this recognition.
