Webinar from Public Health Live, a program sponsored by the School of Public Health, University at Albany. Presented on November, 19, 2015, speaker Michael H. Goodstein, MD, FAAP, reviews the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) infant safe sleep recommendations and discusses how providers can educate caregivers effectively. Hospital safe sleep policies and community-based intervention models are featured. Web site includes a video and additional materials. Nursing, CME and CHES continuing education will be available until November, 2018.
An updated continuing education program for nurses was released in late 2015 by the national Safe to Sleep® campaign, led by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). Reducing the Risk of SIDS in Child Care
Healthy Child Care America, a program of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), has designed a free online course for everyone who cares for a baby to learn more about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and how to reduce the risk for SIDS and other sleep related deaths. Child care providers, family members and babysitters can take the course on a home or office computer. A certificate of completion for 1.0 contact hour will be sent to child care providers which may meet requirements for in-service education. Click the program title for more information.
