We are a community-based pediatric practice addressing health care in Farmingdale and the surrounding area. Our goal at Mid Island Pediatric Associates is for you to feel confident about the quality and coordination of the medical care you receive, whether it’s a one-time acute event, a chronic condition or any type of health concern in between. Physician & Staff
Maria Faustina Calma, MD, FAAP
Dr. Calma specializes in adolescent medicine and pediatrics and has been serving the Farmingdale community for over 20 years at Mid Island Pediatric Associates.
Dr. Calma understands that supporting and educating the entire family is key to comprehensive and compassionate pediatric care. Mid Island Pediatric Associates provides services such as same-day sick visits, annual exams, sports physicals, hearing and sight screenings and immunizations.
Dr. Calma attended medical school at the University of Santo Tomas and completed her pediatric residency at Nassau University Medical Center and Flushing Hospital Medical Center.
Janine received her Master of Science degree from Molloy College, where she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB). She is an active member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. For more than ten years, Janine has been providing primary care to the pediatric populations serving the West Islip, Levittown, East Meadow and Farmingdale communities.
Before working as a nurse practitioner, she acquired her experience as a registered nurse in the pediatric intensive care units of North Shore-LIJ Health System in Manhasset and Winthrop University Hospitals. Janine presently resides on the South Shore of Long Island with her husband and three children. She has a special interest in health and fitness while focusing on teaching healthy habits and looks forward to creating long-lasting relationships with her patients and their families.
Jennifer Wandasiewicz, RN, CPNP-PC
Jennifer is a pediatric nurse practitioner who provides care to newborns through age 21. She graduated from Adelphi University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and received her Master of Science in Child Health from Stony Brook University. Jennifer provided care for more than 20 years in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Good Samaritan Hospital. Additionally, she worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner in a private setting before joining Mid Island Pediatric Associates.
Jennifer is certified in primary care by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, pediatric advanced life support (PALS) and basic life support (BLS). She currently serves as a trustee for the West Babylon Board of Education.
