Spiritual Care

Spiritual Care

The LGBTQ Committee at Stony Brook Medicine believes that every person is a spiritual being. We honor, appreciate and celebrate the uniqueness of each individual including their faith and spirituality.  We recognize that the relationship between religion and the LGBTQ community is a complicated one and too many have been forced to leave their religious communities behind because of condemnation and rejection. But, the good news is that one religious figure does not speak for all, and a growing number of leaders and traditions support, affirm and welcome LGBTQ persons of faith.
