Rani Goldman, MS

 

Bereavement Coordinator, Rani Goldman, provides emotional, educational, psychological and spiritual support to all patients, their families and the Stony Brook staff who have suffered the loss of a loved one. A native of Wisconsin, Rani earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology at Silver Lake College of The Holy Family, and her Master of Science degree in Thanatology from Marian University. While there, she worked extensively in both the hospital and hospice settings, providing comfort and presence to those traveling along the road of loss. Rani holds certifications in Conflict Resolution, QPR Suicide Training and Mindful Meditation, as well as membership within the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC). Rani is completing her Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Stony Brook Hospital and is involved in several volunteer efforts including St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church and Food Pantry/Soup Kitchen and the Ronald McDonald House Charities/Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. In her words, “Journeying the road with those suffering and amid life’s transitions and losses is not only a passion, but a sacred privilege, extraordinary gift and deep honor. Rani is married and has two college aged children.
