Shana Kaplanov (she/her) is the Pediatric and Maternity Health Chaplain providing spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families in Stony Brook Children's. Shana completed her chaplain residency and CPE internship at The Mount Sinai Hospital where she was trained in multi-faith spiritual care. She earned a Master of Divinity from The General Theological Seminary. Prior to chaplaincy, Shana served in the Office of Development and Alum Relations at Union Theological Seminary. She also has experience in public policy with a focus on behavioral healthcare. Shana is a life-long Episcopalian and an active member at St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery. She lives in New York City with her husband, two children, and their chihuahua mix "Q".
