The Stony Brook Department of Surgery celebrated its 2024 graduating class in a ceremony on June 22nd. The event was held at The Waterview at the Port Jefferson Country Club in Port Jefferson, New York.
The event began with an introduction by Apostolos K. Tassiopoulos, MD, FACS, Chairman Department of Surgery. Dr. Tassiopoulos also presented the Fabio Giron Teaching Award to Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Assistant Professor of Surgery, David S. Landau, MD, FACS. James A. Vosswinkel, MD, Chief, Trauma, Emergency Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care, presented the David J. Kreis Jr. Award to Ashla Gaibi-Rodriguez, MD, PGY4.
