Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) symptoms can get worse during this time and individuals with OCD may experience serious challenges when managing new and evolving public health precautions. Allow yourself a basic safety plan based on guidance of trusted experts (e.g., World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Also consider setting limits on how often you may check the news, wash your hands or clean surfaces. Consider enlisting a friend or other support person to help you determine reasonable precautions to take. If you work with a mental health provider, speak to them about any worsening symptoms. Call our COVID help line at 631-632-CHAT (2428) to be connected to appropriate support and other resources.
