Nursing Professional Development and Education

The Department of Nursing Professional Development and Education (NPD&E) supports nursing staff in the development of their skills and professional practice, and provides a lifelong journey of learning.

The team facilitates onboarding, and after the initial orientation process, provides continuing education to both new and experienced nurses. Courses include basic and advanced EKG interpretation, introduction to progressive and critical care, specialty certification review, and in-services on advanced equipment such as continuous dialysis and intraaortic balloon pumps.

Our NPD&E team works collaboratively with nursing unit leaders to ensure learning needs are met for all our nursing staff.
