Our medical and support staff provide care which aims to stop the transmission of HIV. We provide medical care and services to support and assist patient in remaining HIV negative.

  • Prevents HIV with a once daily pill.
  • Provides PrEP screening for HIV negative individuals
  • Medical case management to HIV negative patients on PrEP
  • Community education and outreach
  • Provides Rapid HIV Testing

Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)

PEP provides emergency protection after potentially being exposed to the HIV virus, but you must act quickly. If you believe you have been exposed to HIV, do not delay and go to your nearest Emergency Room. Click here for more information about PEP from the NYS Department of Health. 


Adolescent & Young Adult Prevention Program

Stony Brook Medicine’s HIV Prevention Program provides both education and medical intervention for the prevention of HIV. HIV Prevention Education is provided through the Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (CAPP) Program which uses evidence-based programming for Adolescents ages 12 – 21 as well as workshops for parents and caregivers.
