Doulas

Coming Soon:  Doula Partnership

We are looking for trained and certified birth doulas to join our NEW Doula Partnership with the Long Island Doula Association, supporting our hospital clients through their prenatal, birth, and postpartum time.

A doula is a non-clinical professional who provides physical, emotional, and informational support to pregnant people and their partners before, during, and after childbirth. The goal of a doula is to ensure that the birthing person feels safe, empowered, informed, respected, and heard throughout their experience.

The benefits of having a doula include:

• Improved birth outcomes
• Reduced cesarean rates
• Shorter labor times
• Less use of pain medication
• Increased breastfeeding success
• Enhanced emotional support and reduced stress
• Greater sense of control and empowerment
• Better communication with medical staff
• Support for the partner or other family members

Studies have shown that having a doula present during childbirth can have a positive impact on both the mother's and the baby's health, as well as the overall birth experience.
